Half-hearted Action by DDA in Dwarka

It was nice of DDA to take notice of problem associated with design of sector marker boards on all major road intersections in Dwarka sub city after publishing of my report in May 2008. Paradoxically, on wide roads of Dwarka, sector marker boards had been installed in the middle of roads announcing END of a sector rather than START of another sector.

DDA started working on re-modelling these boards and removed such boards from few intersections. Sadly, even after six months, properly designated sector marker boards have not been installed back. Recent picture of such board at one of the traffic intersections depicts the inaction on the part of DDA.

DDA is requested to change marking on all sector-marker boards in entire Dwarka in a time bound manner.

Violation of Metro Parking rules

Park & Ride has become a trend for Metro travel in Dwarka. Users of Metro generally reach Metro station by car, park their vehicle at parking area & ride Metro for their destination.

Rules are flouted openly by parking attendants in most of Metro stations in Dwarka. Parking attendant insists on upfront payment of parking charges in advance, despite clear guidelines spelt out in clause 2.5(f) of DMRC Parking License terms & conditions that " The staff of licensee will collect charges at the time of exit only. No charges will be collected at the time of entry of vehicles in parking",

DMRC parking license also stipulates in clause 17 a penalty of Rs. 1500/- for each violation of "Charging of parking fee at the time of entrance". As most of commuters are ignorant of such conditions, they fall prey to their pressure.

DMRC authorities are requested to publicise parking rules for the benefit of commuters & also put a stop to such harassment by parking attendants.
